The Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Digital is prioritizing the provision of internet access facilities to support the provision of public services.
"BAKTI has built internet access in more than 31,000 locations, the majority of which are in the education sector, namely 68 percent," said BAKTI President Director of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Fadhilah Mathar, at the BAKTI Media Connect 2026 event in Jakarta, Wednesday.
He added that 5.89 percent of internet access points were built in the health services sector, 19.94 percent in government offices, and 1.53 percent in community activity centers such as markets, places of worship, defense and security posts, tourist attractions, business services, and public transportation.
Fadhilah said that the principles of BAKTI connection development consist of four pillars.
"There are four pillars. First, community sustainability, as this will foster adoption and inclusion. Second, service quality. Third, encouraging the scalability of MSMEs. Fourth, and no less important, is industrial sustainability. The government must not be present to kill commercial opportunities," he explained.
