Chelsea secured a resounding 3-0 victory over AC Milan in a friendly match held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday, as both teams prepare for the new season.
The match came amid numerous changes to Milan's lineup, who started the encounter with Rafael Leao and Luka Modric participating for the first time this summer, while a number of their players were absent due to injury.
Chelsea imposed a clear advantage from the start, and Joao Pedro almost opened the scoring after a mistake by Koni de Winter, but Milan's young goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani saved his attempt.
Danny Welbeck's shot also rebounded off the post after a pass from Italian Marco Palestra, who showed a remarkable level in the left-back position.
Chelsea managed to open the scoring during first-half stoppage time, when Joao Pedro headed in a corner kick taken by Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea didn't have to wait long to add a second goal, as Joao Pedro scored his second goal just 38 seconds into the second half, taking advantage of a pass from Pedro Neto.
Caicedo added the third goal in the 50th minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area following a corner kick, sealing the victory for Chelsea with a clean three-goal win.
This is the penultimate match for both teams in their pre-season preparations.
