China’s Ministry of Commerce announced that authorities will impose anti-dumping measures on imports of pecan nuts from Mexico and the United States, effective August 11.

The ministry's website explained that this decision was the result of an investigation launched on September 25, 2025, in which the competent government authorities concluded that these products were entering the Chinese market at dumping prices, causing significant harm to the local industry.
Based on these findings, importers of these nuts from Mexico and the United States will be required, starting August 11, to pay special insurance when shipments undergo customs inspection in China. According to an addendum published by the Ministry of Commerce, the tariffs imposed on this commodity will range from 17.8% to 54.3%.
It is noted that pecans, which are imported to China fresh or dried, are consumed either directly or used as a key ingredient in the confectionery and bakery industry.
