Deputy Pezeshkian explains his position on the "neither peace nor war" situation

Iranian Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohammad Jafar Ghaempanah explained President Masoud Pezeshkian’s position, stressing that he emphasized the need to move beyond the “neither war nor peace” situation based on “principles of dignity.”

The Iranian Vice President for Executive Affairs , Masoud Pezeshkian, announced that President Michel Aoun stressed the need to compel the United States to implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and to move beyond the current state of "neither war nor peace," based on principles of dignity, wisdom, and national interest.

Pezeshkian wrote on the "X" platform: "During the ceremony commemorating Doctors' Day last night, Pezeshkian referred to the directives of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, emphasizing the necessity of compelling the United States to implement the MOU based on principles of dignity, wisdom, and national interest, and through diligent follow-up. He also stressed the need to move beyond the current state of 'neither war nor peace.'"

Pezeshkian considered that the memorandum of understanding with Washington on ending the war was done without concessions, stressing the priority of unity and attracting investments by ending the state of neither peace nor war.

In the context of the signing of the memorandum last June, which stipulated the immediate and final end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and a mutual commitment to cease any hostilities or threats to use force, Pezeshkian stepped forward to defend this agreement.

Pezeshkian stressed that all parties involved agree that this agreement is the best, and that none of its clauses included concessions that would harm the country.

He added: "Although some analyses may be worrying, our priority today is unity and internal harmony," stressing that the government will follow any path determined by the leader of the Iranian revolution to help the country overcome the current situation.

From an economic perspective, the Iranian president pointed out that a state of war or "neither war nor peace" deters investments, saying: "Capital is a living and sensitive organism that moves away as soon as it senses danger," reflecting the importance of the agreement in stabilizing the economic climate.
