Argentine star Lionel Messi is preparing to take legal action against a number of journalists and media outlets, following what he described as a violation of his privacy during his father Jorge Messi's funeral.

According to Argentine journalist Fran Casaretto, Messi decided to take legal action because media outlets covered and filmed the funeral ceremony, despite it being held privately and closed to the media.

The funeral of Jorge Messi, father of the Argentine national team captain and Inter Miami star, was held yesterday, Sunday, in a private family atmosphere, away from media coverage.

Jorge Messi died last Saturday at the age of 68, after a long battle with a serious illness.

The Argentine star’s father played a pivotal role in his career, managing his professional affairs and overseeing his football career for years.

Messi's legal move comes at a difficult time for his family, after he returned to the Argentine city of Rosario to say goodbye to his father, amid clear efforts by his family to keep the farewell ceremony away from the media.

This move indicates Messi's desire to protect his family's privacy, especially in light of the circulation of photos and information from the funeral ceremony, which was held away from the spotlight
