Erdogan: Türkiye has risen to 16th place globally in the economy

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country has made a major economic leap in recent years, with the implementation of the largest investments and projects in Türkiye's history in the economy, health, education and transportation sectors.

Erdogan explained that Türkiye, which was ranked 21st globally in terms of economic size, rose to 16th globally and sixth in Europe as of 2025.

He added that Turkey’s annual exports rose from $36 billion in 2002 to $278 billion last June, while the national product jumped from $240 billion to $1.6 trillion.

The Turkish president stressed that these figures reflect the transformation the country has undergone in recent years, and strengthen its economic position at both the global and European levels.
