Egyptian investigative authorities have referred former Al-Ahly player Shehab El-Din Ahmed to criminal trial on charges of threatening a lawyer and verbally abusing him in front of the judiciary.
The referral decision came in Case No. 1074 of 2026, Fifth Settlement Criminal Court, registered under No. 59 of 2026, New Cairo General Court, in preparation for the commencement of the case before the competent court.
According to the charges contained in the case file, the former Al-Ahly player is accused of threatening a person, who works as a lawyer, in addition to verbally abusing and defaming him, while the investigations indicated that the threat was accompanied by a request.
The competent court is scheduled to consider the case in accordance with legal procedures, and will set a trial date and take the necessary measures regarding the charges against the accused.
Shehab El-Din Ahmed is a former Egyptian football player who wore the Al-Ahly club jersey during his football career, before moving between a number of Egyptian clubs, and he previously represented Egypt's national teams at different age levels.
