Former unified heavyweight (minimum 90.7kg) world champion Tyson Fury hinted that a fight against Anthony Joshua, also a former unified champion, would be announced soon.
"A big fight is coming soon. This is the fight you've all been waiting for. It will be announced soon, so stay tuned," Tyson Fury said in a self-recorded video posted on his social media platform, which was monitored.
He made the remarks nearly 48 hours after Zuffa Boxing chief executive and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White expressed his disappointment regarding the ongoing saga in efforts to finalize a fight deal between the two former heavyweight world champions.
Fury and Joshua have been targeted for a November fight. The main remaining hurdle is determining whether the all-British bout will take place in the UK or the United States.
Joshua's promoter throughout his career, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, said he had agreed to the fight taking place in the UK and the change of venue would have to be renegotiated.
