Janice Tjen was stopped in the round of 16 of the Cincinnati Open

 






  Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen was eliminated in the round of 16 of the 2026 Cincinnati Open after losing to Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva at the Lindler Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, on Tuesday local time.

In that match, Janice lost in two straight sets and had to admit Mirra Andreeva's superiority with a score of 0-2 (1-6, 5-7), according to Cincinnati Open records.

This defeat stopped Janice Tjen's progress in the Cincinnati Open tournament after she was able to defeat Swiss tennis player Viktorija Golubic in the round of 32.

Although the match only lasted two sets, Janice put up a fierce fight in the second set so that the match lasted for one hour and 42 minutes.

In the first set, Andreeva really appeared dominant and was leading 2-0, before Janice managed to reduce the deficit to 1-2.

However, Janice couldn't do much after Andreeva was able to close the first set with a convincing 6-1 victory.

Entering the second set, Andreeva was able to score first, but Janice did not stay still and the two tennis players continued to chase each other.

The match continued to be fierce, the score was even tied at 6-6 and then the winner had to be determined through a tiebreak .

In the second set tiebreak , Janice led 4-3, but Andreeva then played better and won the tiebreak 7-5. The final score was 7-6 in Andreeva's favor.
