Four Palestinians were killed and others were injured on Thursday in Israeli attacks on Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip and Khan Younis Governorate in the south. The Israeli army later announced that two of the martyrs were killed in two raids on Khan Younis, claiming that they were from the Hamas movement.
In the latest attack, a Palestinian was killed and others, including a child, were injured when an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced people near Ansar roundabout, west of Gaza City.
Another Palestinian was killed and others were injured in an Israeli drone strike that targeted a Palestinian on a bicycle near the Industrial Junction in Gaza City.
The young man, Azzam Al-Abadla, was killed when the occupation forces bombed his tent in the Mawasi Al-Qarara area of Khan Yunis city, in the southern Gaza Strip. This also resulted in the injury of a number of people, who were taken to the hospital, especially since the area is crowded with displaced people.
Local sources reported that a child was shot by the occupation forces in one of the displacement camps located north of Khan Younis city, in the southern Gaza Strip.
This came when the occupation forces stationed near the “yellow line” targeted nearby displacement areas with machine guns, with bullets hitting the tents of the displaced, causing panic and fear, as part of repeated violations.
A similar attack targeted the Al-Mawasi area, specifically the southwestern part where displaced people are numerous, while Israeli warships fired heavily in the sea off Khan Yunis, coinciding with the firing of illumination bombs in the eastern area of Al-Qarara town.
A citizen was seriously injured as a result of the occupation aircraft bombing the roof of a house in the Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City.
This was accompanied by continued artillery shelling and heavy gunfire targeting other areas located east and northeast of the city, which lie beyond the “yellow line”, and the eastern outskirts of the town of Beit Lahia were also subjected to artillery shelling.
New violations were also recorded in other areas located behind and near the “yellow line”, east of the central region.
These attacks violate the ceasefire agreement between Palestinian resistance factions and Israel, which came into effect on October 10 of last year and stipulates a cessation of hostilities. The occupying authorities also continue to tighten the siege, depriving residents of sufficient quantities of medicine and food.
“The Guardian of Sinwar”
For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced on Thursday that it had killed two Palestinians in two raids on Khan Younis, claiming that they were from the “Hamas” movement, and that one of them was a personal bodyguard for its former leader, Yahya Sinwar.
The army said in a statement that it carried out, in cooperation with the Shin Bet security service, a raid on Monday in the city of Khan Yunis, which resulted in the death of Rizq Suhail Suleiman Abu Shahma.
He claimed that Abu Shahma was a member of the “elite” unit of the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, and worked as a personal bodyguard for Sinwar.
Sinwar was the head of the political bureau and the leader of the movement in the Gaza Strip, before he was killed during a clash with an Israeli force in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip in October 2024.
In another raid on Sunday in the city of Khan Younis, the army announced the killing of Palestinian Hazem Moussa, claiming that he was also a member of an “elite” unit.
The army claimed that Abu Shahma and Musa participated in the October 7, 2023 attack on the Israeli “Re’im” camp.
On that day, Hamas attacked military bases and settlements along the Gaza border, killing and capturing Israelis, in response to “the daily crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” according to the movement.
The army claimed that the two Palestinians had recently been working on plans against its forces and attempting to "rebuild the capabilities" of Hamas.
The army did not provide evidence for its claims, and Hamas did not immediately comment on the statement.
Simultaneously, Israeli artillery shelled various areas east of Gaza City, as well as areas in the central Gaza Strip and east of Khan Younis.
Fatah and Hamas condemn
Fatah spokesman Munther al-Hayek said that the Israeli occupation authorities have not adhered to the ceasefire agreement signed last October, noting that Benjamin Netanyahu, the head of the occupation government, is seeking to keep the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip as it is, in order to serve his political interests and election propaganda.
Al-Hayek confirmed in statements to “Voice of Palestine” radio that the occupation continues its policy of displacement and targeting civilians and vital facilities in Gaza, noting that among those targeting, a few days ago, was the bombing of a water desalination plant, and it continues to control about 70% of the area of the sector.
He pointed out that moving to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement “is hampered by the desire of the extreme Israeli right to obstruct any political progress, and to continue imposing the siege and the humanitarian, health and educational catastrophe on the population.”
Al-Hayek said that “the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza and the West Bank are primarily aimed at displacing the Palestinian people.”
He stressed that Netanyahu has not achieved security or stability for the occupying state despite the military escalation in the region, but rather has prolonged the war to escape criminal prosecution and accountability for corruption crimes, stressing that “continuing these sadistic policies will only bring more explosions in the Middle East.”
For his part, Hazem Qassem, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas”, criticized the Arab and international silence on the occupation’s crimes, and wrote a post on “Facebook” in which he said: “Why is the world around us, near and far, silent about the continued killing and destruction in Gaza? Why are our relatives swallowing their tongues? Why are the squares where Palestinians are present not moving, at least in protest against more than a thousand days of genocide?”
He concluded indignantly: “Aren’t we human beings? Aren’t we Arabs? Aren’t we Muslims?”
As of Wednesday, the number of Palestinians killed by Israel in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, had risen to 73,438, in addition to 174,447 wounded, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, 2025, Israeli violations of the agreement have killed 1,303 Palestinians and injured 4,336 others, while crews have recovered hundreds of bodies from under the rubble.
