Instagram has launched a special notification feature for parents in Indonesia to help maintain the mental health of teenagers if their children are suspected of searching for content related to self-harm.
This feature is part of the monitoring service that Meta provides for teen accounts on Instagram.
"Instagram will begin notifying parents who have activated the monitoring feature in Indonesia if teens repeatedly search for terms related to suicide or self-harm within a short period of time," Meta said in a statement received.
The notification feature for parents on Instagram was developed by Meta in collaboration with experts from the Suicide and Self-Harm Advisory Group.
