Women's doubles pair Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine advanced to the second round of the 2026 BWF World Championships to challenge compatriots Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum.
Isyana/Rinjani defeated Scottish pair Julie Macpherson/Ciara Torrance 21-12, 21-18.
"In the next round, we'll face our seniors, Rachel/Febi. We definitely want to give it our best and not lose. We want to test our skills again after losing in straight games at the Indonesia Open. Hopefully, we can get even and win," Rinjani said in an official PBSI statement after the match.
The match against Rachel/Febi is an opportunity for Isyana/Rinjani to avenge their two-game defeat at the Indonesia Open.
In the match against Macpherson/Torrance, Isyana was nervous because it was her first time appearing in the World Championships.
"It feels great to be making my debut at the World Championships, but there's a bit of tension and nervousness. We're trying to enjoy the game and the atmosphere here to give our best performance," said Isyana.
