Malaysia Airlines completes mandatory drug testing for pilots

Malaysia Airlines has completed mandatory drug testing of all its active pilots, and all results came back negative. The group will begin screening approximately 2,840 Malaysia Airlines cabin crew members on August 18, and the process is scheduled to conclude by September 3, according to Bloomberg News.

The examination is also ongoing at the sister company “Firefly”, covering 158 pilots and 163 cabin crew members, and more than half of them have been examined, with all results coming back negative to date. It is noted that the investigations began after it was revealed that a Malaysia Airlines pilot was transporting narcotics before he was arrested in Indonesia.
