Newcastle United Football Club has announced the appointment of German coach Matthias Jäissle to lead the team, succeeding Eddie Howe, who recently left his post.
The English club said via its official website: "Newcastle United is delighted to announce the appointment of Mathias Jäsle as the team's new coach."
"The German coach (38 years old) is one of the most prominent young coaches in Europe, and he has achieved remarkable successes with both Red Bull Salzburg of Austria and Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia."
The club continued: "At just 33 years old, Matthias was appointed coach of Red Bull Salzburg and achieved immediate success in Austria, winning the domestic double in his first season.
He also led the team to the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in its history, before winning the league title for the second time in a row, and making further European progress in the Europa League.
Newcastle said: "After joining Al-Ahli Saudi, he quickly transformed the team into one of the most prominent teams in Asia, leading them to win the AFC Champions League title twice in a row, becoming the first coach to achieve this feat."
Al-Ahli Saudi Club announced its separation from its German coach, Matthias Jäsle, by terminating the contract between the two parties, after the coach submitted his resignation.
