US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reported that the United States has allocated $201 million to the Trans-Caspian Entrepreneurship Fund to support private investment in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
Rubio said the fund began operations under a new board of directors, with capital provided by the U.S. government to support investments along the Caspian Sea trade route, known as the "Middle Corridor".
The fund aims to boost investment activity along the trade corridor linking Asia and Europe through the Caspian Sea and South Caucasus region, as part of Washington’s efforts to support economic development and strengthen trade ties in the region.
This step follows an announcement made in Washington on August 8, 2025, after a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US President Donald Trump, regarding reaching an agreed text for an agreement aimed at establishing peace and regulating relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
