A senior Saudi official said that intelligence reports from the Kingdom, the United States, and countries in the Middle East indicate that Iraqi armed factions are coordinating with the Yemeni Houthi group to launch imminent attacks on Saudi Arabia under the supervision of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
The official, who asked not to be identified, added that the attacks could target civilian and economic infrastructure, including energy facilities, airports and ports, and that Saudi Arabia had detected the transfer of drones and missiles, indicating coordinated operations from the north and south of the kingdom.
Later, the Saudi-led military coalition, which supports the internationally recognized Yemeni government, said 11 civilians were injured in what it described as an attack by the Houthis on the southern border region of Najran.
The coalition spokesman said in a statement that the injured included seven Saudi citizens, among them a woman and a four-year-old child who suffered second-degree burns, in addition to a Yemeni, two Egyptians and a Pakistani.
