Egyptian club Zamalek has announced its categorical refusal to discuss any offers to sell its Brazilian player Juan Bezerra during the current summer transfer window, stressing its commitment to keeping the player and its refusal to let him go at present.
Zamalek said in a statement published on its website that the file on selling Bezerra is now closed, stressing that the team "will not discuss any offers" concerning the player, and that the club cannot be forced to sell any of its players, especially in light of the player's absence from training.
The statement came in response to what the Brazilian player posted on his Instagram account, where he confirmed that he had received a promise from the club's management to allow him to leave after the end of last season.
The Zamalek board denied the validity of this account, stressing that neither the club president nor any board member made such a promise, and demanding that the player specify the party that informed him of this if he has any proof of the validity of his claim.
Zamalek added that it had officially informed Bezerra of the need to return to Cairo and resume training with the team immediately, based on his contract with the club, which extends for three more seasons.
He explained that the Zamalek administration will continue to take all measures stipulated in the contract and the regulations, including applying the internal regulations to the player, while the club retains all its legal and contractual rights.
