The Indonesian youth football team reached the round of 16 in Japan

The Indonesian youth soccer team has advanced to the round of 16 of the U12 Junior Soccer World Challenge 2026, a world-class soccer competition in Chiba, Japan.

This achievement is a continuation of the Agung Podomoro Land Cup U12 Junior Soccer World Challenge 2026 South East Asia Qualifier which was held.

As finalists in the 2026 Agung Podomoro Land Cup, Mazda GB FC from Laos and Bandung Legend from Indonesia earned the right to continue the competition in Japan. Carrying the Agung Podomoro Land Indonesia brand, Bandung Legend secured three wins in the group stage before advancing to the round of 16 of the tournament, held from August 21-24.

They were drawn in Group A alongside Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo U12 EAST, Ageo Asahi FC, and Nara Club Junior. In the round of 16, Indonesia's progress was halted by Mazda GB FC with a 0–3 defeat.

Bacelius Ruru, President Director of PT Agung Podomoro Land Tbk., stated that this achievement was a valuable competitive experience for the young Indonesian players. He believes that reaching the top 16 isn't just about the results, but also the opportunity for these youngsters to experience world-class competition firsthand.

"For us, the opportunity to compete in a competition featuring 40 teams, including a number of academies and youth teams from major global clubs, provides experience that is difficult to obtain through training solely at home. The players can experience firsthand the differences in playing style, tempo, intensity, mentality, and football culture across various countries," Ruru said in an official statement on Friday.
