The Moroccan lantern market is projected to reach $880 million by 2034

An economic analysis predicted that the Moroccan lamps and lanterns market would reach approximately $880 million by 2034.

The Japanese company Global Information said in an economic analysis that the size of the Moroccan lamps and lanterns market will rise from more than $514 million in 2025 to about $880 million by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate of nearly 6.28%.

The report attributed this growth to the increasing demand for heritage decorative lighting, rising spending on home furnishings, and expanding demand from hotels, resorts, restaurants, and cafes.

Moroccan lanterns benefit from the appeal of their handcrafted designs, including metalwork and colored glass panels, making them a sought-after choice for consumers looking for culturally themed decor.

Europe captured the largest share of the market, at approximately 31.15%, driven by the growing popularity of Moroccan-inspired interior design. Rising incomes, urban expansion, and an increased focus on outdoor spaces and social gatherings are also expected to boost demand for these products, according to the Moroccan news website Hespress, which reported on the story.

The report explained that hanging lanterns constituted 43.7% of the market thanks to the diversity of their uses in residential and commercial spaces, while the share of electric lanterns operating with LED technology exceeded 49%, due to their energy efficiency, long lifespan and the level of safety they provide.

In contrast, the analysis pointed to challenges that limit the spread of Moroccan lanterns, including the fragility of the glass panels, the susceptibility of the metal frames to damage or rust and fading of colors when used outdoors, as well as their need for continuous maintenance and cleaning.
