The Thailand GP will be the first round of MotoGP 2027

 






  The Thailand Grand Prix, held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, will be the first round of the 2027 MotoGP season, taking place.

With Thailand being chosen for the 2027 season, it marks the third consecutive season that the Thai GP will be the opening round for MotoGP.

"Hosting the MotoGP season opener for the third consecutive year is a testament to the incredible partnership we have built in Thailand and the incredible passion of the fans," said MotoGP Group CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta in an official MotoGP.
"Buriram has consistently delivered one of the best events on our calendar, making it the perfect venue to launch MotoGP's new technical era," added Carmelo.

Next season will be a special one considering that there will be new MotoGP technical regulations that will be in effect from 2027 to 2031.

"The first race under the 2027 regulations will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our sport, and we are delighted to begin that journey in Thailand," said Carmelo.

This season, the Thailand GP has successfully attracted the attention of MotoGP fans around the world.

At the opening of the 2026 season, the Thailand GP set a new record with a total of 228,228 spectators filling the circuit located in the city of Buriram.

This figure represents an increase compared to the 2025 season, which recorded 224,634 spectators at the opening race of the Thailand GP.
