The National Space Science and Technology Center at the United Arab Emirates University announced the successful launch of the "SEO" satellite aboard a "Long March-2C" rocket from the Taiyuan Launch Center in China.
The UAE's state news agency reported on Monday that the mission will contribute to "supporting scientific research and technological applications related to sustainability and future development, by providing data and information that support environmental protection, natural resource management, and enhancing the efficiency of planning and decision-making."
Nabil Mohammed Al Bastaki, Director of the National Center for Space Science and Technology, said that the "SEO" project represents "an extension of the center's efforts in developing national space projects that contribute to building Emirati capabilities and enhancing the practical experience of researchers and engineers in the fields of designing, developing and operating satellites."
