Indonesian women's national 3x3 basketball team coach Deny Sartika said her players will focus on improving their physical fitness ahead of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan, which will be held from September 19 to October 4.
"So far, the players haven't been able to consistently play until the final minutes of the match because their physical condition declines midway through the match," Deny said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Deny explained that the focus on improving physical strength was a form of evaluation of the last two international appearances, namely the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series in Batam and Tokyo.
In addition to physical improvements, efforts to improve playing concentration are also a major concern because the players made many mistakes when playing against the Lion City Team in the Tokyo Series and these mistakes must not be repeated in future matches.
