Gokhan Gunaydin, deputy chairman of the parliamentary bloc of the Turkish "New" Party, announced that the number of party members has exceeded 300,000, noting that the donation campaign collected more than 411 million Turkish lira in one month.
Gunaydin said during a press conference in Tokat province that the party has completed building its organizational structures in 65 provinces, while preparations are continuing to complete them in the 81 Turkish provinces.
He explained that the party faced a number of bureaucratic obstacles during the founding phase, but it managed to expand its membership base in a short period, adding that its next goal is to reach one million members. Regarding organizational matters, Gunaydin announced that the party's district-level conferences will begin on September 12, while the state conferences will be held on October 18. Gunaydin addressed the donation campaign, saying that citizens had given the party more than 411 million lira in one month, considering that these contributions reflect the level of popular support for the party.
Regarding new affiliations, Gunaydin stated that 236 mayors from various political parties have joined the ranks of the "new party".
The event held in Tokat witnessed the presentation of party badges to a number of new members, including the former head of the Good Party branch in the state, Omar Sagul, and the mayors of Atakoy and Kınık, who resigned from the Democratic Party and the Republican People's Party.
Gunaydin confirmed that the party is continuing its preparations to participate in the upcoming elections, especially after its general conference scheduled for October.
Ozgur Ozal had founded the "New Party" in July 2026, along with about 90 deputies who had defected from the Republican People's Party, following a legal and organizational crisis that led to his departure from the party leadership.
