The meeting came amid escalating settler attacks and Israeli military operations in the West Bank since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, coinciding with the expansion of settlements and tightening restrictions on the movement of Palestinians.
The channel reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security meeting on Monday with Chief of Staff of the Army Eyal Zamir and other officials to discuss settler violence in the West Bank, in response to an American request.

According to data published by the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission a few days ago, settlers have killed 25 Palestinians since the beginning of 2026, while the number of Palestinians who were killed by settlers reached 61 since October 2023, and 87 since 2019, most of them in the governorates of Ramallah, Al-Bireh and Nablus.
