Warning in Egypt about changing eye color

The Egyptian Medical Syndicate warned of the serious health risks that may result from eye color change procedures, stressing that they are unsafe procedures and may lead to serious complications that directly affect vision.

Dr. Gamal Ameera, the deputy head of the Doctors Syndicate, confirmed in televised statements that these surgeries represent a medically risky practice, issuing a strong warning to doctors against performing them due to the resulting health damages that may lead to complications that cannot be treated.

Amira pointed out that the relevant scientific society in the Arab Republic of Egypt issued official warnings and condemned the performance of such surgeries, stressing the need to completely refrain from them in order to protect patients from the serious consequences that may harm the internal tissues of the eye.

The union representative stressed the importance of raising public awareness about not being swayed by these cosmetic procedures unless a thorough and accurate medical assessment is conducted, and a full understanding of the extent of the risks and potential complications that pose a significant threat to eye health is achieved.
