The World Boxing Council women's super bantamweight world champion, Skye Nicolson, has been given a new schedule to defend her title against Miyo Yoshida, on November 8 at College Park Center, Texas, United States.
"The fight was originally scheduled for August, but Nicolson was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury," the WBC said on its official website, which was monitored in Jakarta on Thursday.
After completing his recovery period, the Australian boxer now has the opportunity to make the first defense of his 122-pound or 55.3 kg world title.
Nicolson, a Tokyo 2020 Olympian, was declared the WBC super-bantamweight world champion in May 2026 after Ellie Scotney vacated the title to move up to featherweight.
With this status, Nicolson, who boasts a record of 16 wins, including three knockouts, and one loss, officially becomes a two-division world champion. He previously held the WBC featherweight world title.
