The new artificial intelligence model "Jiff" - announced by one of the creators of "ChatGBT" - has recently invaded social media platforms, because it is about 25 times faster and about 100 times cheaper than traditional artificial intelligence models, Within days of the model first appearing and invading user tech companies like Cloudflare and Vercell began to adopt it and incorporate it into their core tools.
But "Jiff" is so different from any traditional AI model that the company responsible for it, "TypeSafeAI," describes it as a new kind of AI model that differs from the deep language models we are used to in "ChatGBT" or "Cloud" and even Chinese models such as "DeepSec" and "KemiK".
The difference lies in the type of output produced by the new model, as the new model abandons the traditional outputs produced by linguistic models, whether they are texts, images, or even videos and programming codes.
Instead, Giff produces numbers and statistics related to probabilities, which the company describes as "classified and defined probabilistic decisions" for use by AI models and other technical tools.
A model designed for machines rather than humans
Researcher Diogo Almeida, who co-developed the ChatGBT model and then left the company to found TypeSafe, believes that the capabilities of traditional AI models, despite their development, are not practical.
From Almeida’s point of view, the problem with traditional AI models is that they are designed to deal with human language, and therefore are not useful in automating tasks, so he decided to develop a model that “speaks the language of computers,” as he described it.
Almeida is one of the first researchers to work at OpenAI before ChatGPT was launched and made its global sensation. He was responsible for developing human-feedback reinforcement learning technology, which enabled AI models to evolve to what they are today.
But he left OpenAI two years ago and started his new company, which seeks to develop an AI model that talks to machines to produce balanced decisions that drive the work of AI agents and other software tools.
Faster results at a lower cost
Giving up linguistic outputs gives the "Giff" model a competitive advantage that separates it from the rest of the traditional artificial intelligence models. Without the need to produce text, image, video clip or code, the model can work at an incredible speed that surpasses the speed of the most advanced linguistic artificial intelligence models.
