The Spanish newspaper AS said that Vinicius Junior did not start the season at his best level, but despite that, he scored one goal and made two assists in 4 matches, and against Real Betis he caused a penalty that could have saved Real Madrid from defeat.
It stated that since Real Madrid won the Champions League title in 2014, Vinicius has not been able to maintain the level that led him to become one of the best players in the world.
She noted that, nevertheless, last season he delivered his best numbers since the beginning of his professional career, having scored 26 goals and made 15 assists in 58 matches, figures that would have been highlighted even more had the team won any title.
She stressed that although Real Madrid's primary goal is to win the Spanish league title to end Barcelona's dominance after they won it in the last two seasons, winning the Champions League title would be a motivation for the Brazilian star.
She explained that since arriving at Real Madrid, Vinicius has proven that he is a player for big matches, and his best form often comes during the second half of the season, which is the stage that ultimately determines the success of the season.
Vinicius enters the current season with greater ambition, and after finalizing the renewal of his contract until 2031, his entire focus is on returning to the podium after two seasons in which the team did not achieve what it aspired to.
