The Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing warned of the dangerous humanitarian situation and the situation on the ground in the Gaza Strip, where there are more than 2,000 damaged buildings at risk of collapse, piles of rubble, and difficulties in accessing several areas.
The ministry said it was continuing its response and rescue efforts following the collapse of a residential building in Gaza City.
The ministry explained that its team is coordinating with international partners, local governments, and relevant authorities to provide machinery and equipment to help clear debris and roads and reach affected areas.
The team also assisted in rescue efforts for victims buried in the rubble and recovered bodies. These conditions pose an increasing risk to public safety, especially as winter approaches.
The ministry emphasized that addressing these risks requires adequate heavy equipment, fuel, and materials to enable specialized teams to clear debris and roads, assess the extent of damage, and address hazards caused by damaged buildings while continuing to provide temporary housing solutions for affected and displaced families.
