Indonesian surfers, Bronson Meydi and I Made Pajar Ariyana, have successfully advanced to the third round of the men's shotboard surfing event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
According to organizers' statistics, in the first round of the preliminary round in Long Beach, Japan, on Friday, Bronson was in first place when competing in the heat or fourth match group.
He earned a total score of 9.84. He scored 5.17 in the first wave and 4.67 in the second wave . These results allowed Bronson to advance directly to the third round, bypassing the second round.
In the fourth heat , the 22-year-old athlete of Indonesian-Australian descent competed with a representative from Thailand, Natthakron Sae-Iew, who scored a total of 7.54 with 3.87 in the first wave and 3.67 in the second wave .
Meanwhile, Bronson's compatriot, I Made Pajar Ariyana, achieved a similar result. The Balinese man took first place in the first round of the fifth heat .
He earned a total score of 8.17, having scored 4.17 in the first wave and 4.17 in the second wave . These results earned him a direct advance to the third round.
In the fifth heat , the 22-year-old competed against Bangladeshi and Afghan surfers Mohammad Mannan and Afridun Amu, respectively. Mannan scored a total of 5.74, while Amu scored 2.44.
The third round of the men's shortboard surfing event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games was held at Long Beach.
