Next year, Apple will celebrate nearly 20 years since the launch of the first generation of iPhones, and a report by the American tech website CNET indicates that the company plans to release a different phone called the "iPhone 20" that will be almost entirely made of glass.

The company’s plans are consistent with what happened with the “iPhone X” which it launched in 2017 to celebrate 10 years since the launch of the first generation of the phone, in which it introduced for the first time the new screen notch and abandoned the button on the front.
Apple skipped the number 9 and intends to do the same with the number 19, as the company then launched the iPhone 8 and then moved directly to the iPhone 10 in the same generation, after which its design became the new design for iPhones.
Since then, Apple has made little change to the iPhone design, despite moving to a smaller screen notch called Dynamic Aperture and even introducing the foldable phone this year, which resembles the rest of the company’s phones in its design language.
the iPhone 20 will come with the largest screen Apple has ever offered in its phones, with the screen size expected to reach 6.41 inches in the Pro version and 6.96 inches in the Pro Max version, compared to 6.27 inches in the iPhone 18 Pro and 6.86 inches in the Pro Max version.
Although the difference in size of the new screen seems small, the report confirms the company's intention to rely on curved edges in the phone, giving the impression that it is larger than its actual size.
Apple’s plan runs up against the technical obstacles that appeared in the current generations of iPhones when it tried to hide the sensors in the screen. In the case of the iPhone Duo, the company completely removed the facial recognition sensor and relied on an internal camera hidden under the screen with a quality that did not impress those who tried the phone.
New prices next year
Apple will raise the prices of the next generation of iPhones based on the new screen design and new features that will be added to the phone, which is why the company did not significantly increase the price of the phones this year.
Apple had done this before in 2017 when it announced the "iPhone 10," raising the price of the phone at the time to about a thousand dollars because it was a special edition.
It is worth noting that Apple launched its first foldable phone this year under the name "iPhone Duo" at a price of $1999 and raised the prices of the "iPhone 18 Pro" and "Pro Max" phones by about $100 each compared to previous generations.
