New leaks indicate that Google is preparing to launch a new generation of laptops called Googlebooks, in a serious attempt to compete with Apple's MacBooks.
New leaks have revealed exciting details about the specifications of the Lenovo Googlebook 15.
According to MacObserver, the new device boasts an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor and up to 32GB of memory, double what any previous Chromebook supported.
It also comes with SSD storage options ranging from 256 to 512 GB, a high-resolution OLED screen (2880 x 1800) with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an interactive touch panel.
With these specifications, its price is expected to approach $1500.
Google has not yet explained how the new operating system will work, or whether it will make Android apps work better on larger screens.
However, leaks suggest that Google Books will rely heavily on artificial intelligence, allowing you to access Gemini for "proactive personal assistance," such as writing messages or adding calendar events for you. The device will also be able to automatically organize your scattered files into "collections," and will support facial recognition and fingerprint unlocking.
The device features a dedicated "G" key instead of a Windows button, likely providing quick access to AI functions. A glowbar also indicates battery and charging levels. Most interestingly, Google plans to release dedicated accessories, such as the Lenovo AI Mouse with RGB lighting (colored LEDs whose color and brightness can be changed software-wise), which may interact with the smart mouse cursor.
We will have to wait and see how these features actually work, as leaks suggest an official announcement may be soon.
