Maresca opens up the possibility of starting Enzo Fernandez against Coventry City

Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca has opened the door to new signing midfielder Enzo Fernandez playing against Coventry City in the third week of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

"Enzo is ready, yes. I know Enzo well and know what he can bring to the team," Enzo said.

"He's a winner, has a winning mentality, and knows how to win. World Cups, Club World Cups... the most important thing is that he's a winner," he said.

Enzo Fernandez became the final player to be landed before the summer transfer window closed from fellow Premier League club Chelsea.

The Italian coach was delighted to see the Argentine arrive at the club after the deal was completed on transfer deadline day.

According to Maresca, Enzo Fernandez is a player with a winning mentality and the presence of the Argentine national team player makes everyone at Manchester City happy.

"I can confirm that in the last five days, four or five players have asked whether he's coming. His presence with us is very important," Maresca explained.

Enzo Fernandez is certainly a strong addition to Manchester City's midfield, which is currently trying to continue its positive trend in the Premier League this season.

Manchester City are currently top of the Premier League table with six points from two matches, having beaten Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.
