In detail, Israel said it assassinated the commander of the northern Gaza Strip brigade of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Izz ad-Din al-Beik, in a raid on Gaza City on Monday night.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed in a joint statement that the operation was carried out through an Israeli military raid on Gaza City targeting al-Beik. These attacks violate the ceasefire agreement concluded between the resistance factions and Israel, under American, Egyptian, Qatari and Turkish auspices, which came into effect on October 10 of last year, and stipulates a cessation of mutual attacks. The occupation authorities also continue to tighten the siege measures imposed on the sector, and prevent the arrival of sufficient quantities of medicine and food.
