Amid growing questions about companies' ability to control artificial intelligence technologies, OpenAI announced it is suspending training on its most advanced models.
The American company has halted training on its most advanced AI models, stating that it will not resume development "until it is certain that additional security measures are in place." This confirmation was reported by Axios, citing a company representative.
According to the site's sources, experts from OpenAI and Anthropic are currently investigating several tens of thousands of incidents that occurred in recent months during testing and in real-world conditions.
Axios asserts that much of the information about these incidents is not currently being made public, and that the problem may be "far more complex than the public knows."
According to the initial findings of the investigation conducted by employees of the two companies and invited experts, the ability of OpenAI and Anthropic to maintain complete control over their technologies is "questionable."
