Persib Bandung manager Umuh Muchtar confirmed that his team will use the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium in Bandung City to host PSM Makassar in the opening match of the 2026/2027 Super League.

Umuh said the use of GBLA Stadium became an option after Persib was not allowed to use Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, which is entering the grass maintenance period in preparation for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup.
"Although the GBLA isn't 100 percent ready yet, since Si Jalak Harupat is no longer allowed to be used, we'll play here at the GBLA. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly and there are no issues. The important thing is that Persib gets three points," Umuh said.
According to him, Persib is targeting a win in the first match even though the condition of the GBLA Stadium is still in the improvement stage.
Umuh said he would motivate the players before facing PSM Makassar. He hoped everyone would maintain focus and work hard to secure three points.
