The Russian platform MAX has strengthened its measures to protect users from phishing and other types of fraud.
As reported by the platform's press office, the "Digital Risk Protection" system, developed by the Russian information security company "F6", was used for this purpose.
During the first two months of operation, more than 2,500 malicious resources were discovered and neutralized on Max. The scammers were using various pretexts to redirect victims to fake login pages and steal their data or money.
The system, which belongs to the data security company, works by relying on artificial intelligence, enabling the detection and automatic blocking of fake websites and fraudulent applications that disguise themselves as legitimate software, as they may contain malicious code.
As Stanislav Goncharov, head of Digital Risk Protection at F6, noted, scammers are increasingly using popular messaging apps in their schemes. According to him, systematic monitoring and blocking of fake resources leads to a significant decrease in attacker activity.
It is worth noting that the F6 Directorate had previously entered into an information exchange agreement with the Federal Service for Technical Regulation and Export Control. Under this agreement, the Service receives cyber intelligence data from the F6 Directorate, including information on cybercriminal groups and state-sponsored attackers, analytical reports, open threat intelligence, and malware reports. This data is used to develop technical protection measures and to inform government agencies and critical information infrastructure entities about emerging threats.
