An exhibition held at the International Technology Conference at the Patriot National Military Complex revealed stunning glasses made by the artificial intelligence company Verona.
The company's director, Arman Davitovich Avanesyan, explained the essence of his project: "We have a very advanced system of programs for the rehabilitation of the blind in the country, whether they are blind from birth, or lost their sight due to old age, or, as is the case at the moment, as a result of injuries suffered by young people that led to their loss of sight. The recovery process is very difficult and lengthy, so we decided to make a new contribution in this field."
Avanesian explained that processing a single query in a conventional neural network can take anywhere from one and a half to five minutes, depending on the complexity, while Verona AI glasses accomplish the same task in just two seconds. During this time, the glasses capture an image, send it to the neural network, process and adapt it, and then convert it into spoken code.
"A man wearing a blue suit is standing in front of you," the voice comes from the arms of the glasses, which operate in real time via an internet connection.
However, there is a problem: the head cannot be moved quickly because the influx of new information could overload the system. Therefore, the head must be turned slowly and smoothly, moving at a measured pace.

The developers plan to add modes that warn the blind person of potential dangers and obstacles.
Arman Avanesyan said the engineers' next task is to make the device work without an internet connection. He added that this is a crucial aspect of rehabilitating the blind, so that the glasses can help them integrate into society.
He explained: "We take the helmet, and we incorporate specific cameras with a display system and a neural network into it, and such smart devices will reach the stage of being used by rescuers as well as the military. The company is now ready to test it practically."
The main advantage of the new AI-powered combat helmet is the ability for several groups of fighters to operate within a single system.
