Thirteen Russian skiers have been granted neutral status by the International Ski Federation, allowing them to participate in international competitions starting from the 2026-2027 season.
The list included eight players in the singles competitions, most notably Makar Ignatov, Nikolay Kolesnikov, Sofia Sarnovskaya, Agata Petrova, Sofia Smegina, Sandra Davydenko, Taisiya Shcheptalina and Ignat Pakhomov.
The list also included four ice dancing competitors: Sheptalina, Alexei Stolyarov, Polina Garova and Vladislav Mikhailov, along with pairs competitor Stepan Marishin.
The neutral status allows Russian athletes to participate in international competitions organized by the International Ski Federation, according to the conditions adopted for participation under a neutral flag.
Makar Ignatov is one of the most prominent names on the list, having won the silver medal at the 2020-2021 Russian Championships, and also won the Russian Cup final twice.
His wife, Alexandra Trusova, an Olympic silver medalist at the Beijing Olympics, had previously also been granted neutral status.
