The match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, witnessed a crisis in television broadcasting after the broadcast process was marred by technical and artistic errors that observers described as an "unprecedented occurrence" in Jordanian stadiums, including the appearance of a clear green line on the screen throughout the match, in addition to displaying an incorrect score of 2-2, even though Jordan was leading 1-0 at the end of the first half, as well as sound interruptions at some times and other technical problems.
The Jordanian Football Association quickly issued an official statement in which it offered a clear apology to the fans, explaining the circumstances that led to this scene.
In a new statement issued today, Tuesday, the Jordanian Federation said: “The Board of Directors of the Jordanian Football Federation, headed by Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, decided to accept the resignation of Secretary General Samar Nassar, expressing its thanks and appreciation to her for her efforts during her time working at the Federation, and her contributions to serving and developing the Jordanian football system and achievements at all levels.”
The statement added: "The Council also decided to assign Ms. Farah Al-Badarneh to the duties of Acting Secretary-General of the Union, in order to ensure the continuity of institutional work and to continue implementing the Union's strategic plans and programs in accordance with the approved objectives."
Al-Badarneh has more than 15 years of experience in sports management and governance, business development, and organizing international tournaments. She currently serves as the Director of Business Development at the Jordan Football Association, which she joined in 2011, in addition to serving as the Director of International Relations at the West Asian Football Federation.
