The Ministry of Communication and Digital is monitoring the review of regulations regarding the use of mobile phone numbers and has stated its readiness to comply with the Constitutional Court's decision on the matter.

"Regarding matters related to telecommunications services currently being challenged at the Constitutional Court, we are of course following them closely, and as we have done previously, the Ministry of Communication and Digital is ready to comply and implement them," said Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid.
In a press conference at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Office, he said that the government would prepare new regulations based on the decision of the Constitutional Court if necessary.
"If necessary, we will create new regulations to comply with the Constitutional Court's ruling. But since it's still in process, we'll wait," he said.
He assessed that Article 10, Article 14, Article 17, Article 23 paragraphs (1) and (2), and Article 25 in the law do not provide legal guarantees for the implementation of mobile number portability (MNP), thus potentially harming consumer rights in the digital era.

According to him, the absence of legal guarantees for the implementation of MNP gives rise to costs due to changing telephone numbers.
When changing phone numbers, users must update accounts, contact relations, change business materials, update One Time Passwords , and bear the risk of losing access.
Moreover, mobile phone numbers now also function as digital identities, required for account authentication and recovery processes, as well as for connecting to services such as finance, commerce, and communications.
