TikTok is making the comments section on its platform more interactive by adding a variety of new features, including voice comments, polls, and photo comments.

According to the Voice Comments, Polls, Live Photos Comments, and Photo Carousel Comments features are expected to make TikTok's comments section a space for users to linger and interact with each other, not just a place to leave comments below videos.
"Sound and music have shaped TikTok since its inception, turning songs into trends and audio snippets into jokes shared across the app," TikTok wrote in its latest blog post .
"Now, we're bringing that same energy to the comments section with Voice Comments , a new way to share and listen to voice messages directly under any video," TikTok said.
The Voice Comments feature can be used by tapping the microphone icon in the comments section to record a message up to one minute long. Once the voice recording is uploaded, other users can tap to listen to it.
A TikTok spokesperson stated that voice comments are subject to the same Community Guidelines as other content on its platform.
The company uses a combination of human effort and automated detection tools, including speech-to-text transcription, to identify and remove content that violates its policies.
The Voice Comments feature will be available globally next month for platform users aged 18 and over.
