Trump The Iran war will end after the midterm congressional elections

US President Donald Trump said again on Saturday that he believes the war with Iran will end after the November midterm congressional elections and that oil prices will plummet once that happens.
Trump told reporters in Dublin, “I think it will happen very soon. I think it will probably be right after the midterm elections. They are trying to hold on as long as possible to complicate the elections. But I think people are aware of that.”

He continued, "When that happens, oil prices will collapse."

Regarding Yemen, Trump said that the Iranian-backed Houthis had asked the United States not to intervene in the conflict, as they seized control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait area on Friday , after advancing at the expense of Saudi-backed government forces.

He continued, “We have had discussions. The Houthis contacted us, and they do not want to fight us,” adding, “They do not want us to attack them, and they are allowing most ships to pass. There is only one country they are not happy with, and we will sort it out.”

He added that Iran was most likely responsible for the air attack on Saudi Arabia that disrupted the East-West oil pipeline, one of the kingdom's main routes for exporting crude oil bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.

When asked by reporters about the possibility that Iran was behind the attack on the oil pipeline, he said, “I think so, they are most likely responsible for this.”

Trump also said he had spoken to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing him as a “dear friend”.
