A private source from inside the Suwaida Governorate told the Syria 360 platform that Israeli helicopters transported weapons, equipment and advanced devices over a period of 72 hours to equip the anticipated base.
The source added that Israeli army personnel arrived in the area to explore the site, accompanied by heavy equipment, and suggested that the base was intended for early warning, espionage, and reconnaissance purposes.
The discussion about the base coincided with a large-scale Israeli escalation in the Daraa, Quneitra, and Damascus countryside governorates. According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the number of incursions carried out by the occupation forces reached 280 during the month of September.
In this context, the Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the escalating incursions by Israeli forces into the Quneitra and Daraa governorates. The ministry warned in a statement of the repercussions of these violations on regional stability.
The ministry noted that these incursions coincided with intensified helicopter and warplane activity in southern Syria, violating the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic. It affirmed that the occupying forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions, raids on civilian homes, arrests, and the bulldozing of agricultural lands.
Damascus stressed the illegality of the Israeli measures, asserting that international law considers these practices null and void and does not recognize them. Damascus demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Syrian territory, calling on the international community to pressure Israel to end its violations of national sovereignty.
