Zamalek board member Ahmed Suleiman announced the death of Nasr Ibrahim, before the club issued an official statement mourning its former player and expressing its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Nasr Ibrahim was born in the Manshiyat Nasser area of Cairo on August 29, 1959. He began his football career in the youth sector of Zamalek Club, before being promoted to the first team in the 1977-1978 season, when he was only nineteen years old.

His promotion came after he attracted attention during his participation with the youth team, after which he began a long journey with the first team that lasted for about 11 seasons, during which he became one of the prominent names in Zamalek’s attack, and became famous among the club’s fans with the nicknames “The Ghoul” and “The Sniper,” due to his physical strength and ability to score.

During his time with Zamalek, Nasr Ibrahim scored 28 goals, including 19 goals in the Egyptian League, 3 goals in the Egypt Cup, and 6 goals at the African level.

One of his most notable goals was his goal against JS Kabylie of Algeria in the semi-final of the African Champions League in 1984, which contributed to Zamalek qualifying for the final for the first time in its history, before the team won the continental title for the first time.

During his years with Zamalek, Nasr Ibrahim achieved a number of important championships, as he won the Egyptian League title with the team in the 1977-1978, 1983-1984 and 1987-1988 seasons.

He was also part of the team that won the African Champions League in 1984 and 1986, in addition to winning the Egyptian Cup three times, during the years 1977, 1979 and 1988, making him one of the members of the generation that put Zamalek at the top of Egyptian and African football.

His career was not limited to the club, as he also wore the Egyptian national team jersey, but injuries affected his continuity on the field and his international career.

Ibrahim ended his football career in 1988, at the age of 29, after injuries forced him to retire early, ending a journey that lasted for about 11 years with Zamalek's first team.
