The ministry issued its condemnation following Burnham's statement earlier in the day that the alleged plot was "almost certainly" directed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The ministry called the UK's accusations a "smear ploy to fuel an anti-Iran campaign and avoid accountability for the UK's participation in the US and Israeli military aggression against the Iranian nation."
The ministry said London's use of terms such as "highly likely" and "almost certain" to lend credibility to its accusations was an "obvious" attempt to avoid responsibility for its "baseless" claims.
On September 27, British police arrested five people, all in their 20s, on suspicion of "explosives and terrorism-related offences" near Royal Air Force Base Fairford in Gloucestershire, after receiving information that three vans were seen heading towards the base, which the US has used to launch attacks against Iran.
The five were released on police bail the following day after items found in the vans and addresses linked to them across London were searched.
