"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemns the Houthi attacks and affirms its fundamental right to defend its territory, assets, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents," said Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal Abdullah Al-Amoudi during a press conference at the Saudi Embassy.
He reiterated that Saudi Arabia would take the necessary steps to protect its national security in accordance with international law.
According to him, Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabian territory are still ongoing, including those targeting airports such as Abha Airport, King Khalid International Airport, and King Fahd Airport.
"The Houthi attack resulted in 17 people being killed and 333 others being injured, including Saudi Arabian citizens and foreigners from friendly countries," he said.
Saudi Arabia again called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
"Saudi Arabia also calls on the international community to provide full support to the legitimate Yemeni government to confront the terrorist Houthi militia and stop its threats to Yemen, the region, and the world," he said.
He noted that despite the Kingdom's efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution and return to the dialogue table, the Houthis continue to target civilian and economic targets in Saudi Arabia.
"In fact, Houthi terrorist attacks have reached the holiest places on earth, namely Mecca Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, which is a provocation to the feelings of Muslims in various parts of the world," he said.
