"We have received information that Russia supports a trilateral meeting at the level of our negotiating teams. The American side has proposed that the meeting be held as soon as possible. We support this proposal," he said.
Zelenskyy said he did not yet know the exact date of the meeting. However, he said that the negotiating teams of both parties would continue to communicate to develop the proposed agenda for talks.
"The agenda is clear: ending the war, bringing peace closer, and preparing everything for a leaders' meeting. This is very important for all parties," he said, adding that the United States promised to work towards such a meeting as soon as possible.
Zelenskyy also stated that the meeting would take place no later than early November. He added that the Ukrainian negotiating team would support the ceasefire proposal and various humanitarian initiatives, such as a prisoner exchange.
He hopes Russia will fulfill its commitments regarding the trilateral meeting.
On Wednesday, Putin received a visit from US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. It was their ninth face-to-face meeting.
Following the talks, Russian official Yury Ushakov told reporters that Putin conveyed Moscow's readiness, in principle, to resume trilateral peace talks on Ukraine in November.
