Yemen: Government warns against exploiting artificial intelligence for military disinformation

The Yemeni government has warned against the use of artificial intelligence technologies to clone the voices of military leaders and fabricate orders aimed at confusing the forces.

The Ministry of Defense of the internationally recognized Yemeni government reported that it had detected attempts by the Houthis to employ artificial intelligence technologies to clone the voices of military leaders.

This came in an explanatory video published on the "X" platform, in which the ministry called on "soldiers and fighters to be vigilant."
The statement emphasized that fabricated military orders aim to confuse the forces and sow doubt on the battlefield, and stressed the need to verify suspicious audio recordings through official channels.
The Ministry of Defense concluded its statement by emphasizing the importance of being wary of disinformation that seeks to push forces into making wrong decisions.
Alongside the military escalation on the Yemeni scene between the Houthis on one side and government forces supported by the Saudi-led coalition on the other, another war is unfolding in the media arena, one that has even involved religious figures issuing statements from time to time to incite the Yemeni people, who are divided between the internationally recognized government and the Houthi group, which has seized control of areas in the country in recent weeks.

Malaysia announces its readiness to provide humanitarian aid to Yemen and calls on the parties to the conflict to negotiate.

Malaysia has confirmed its readiness to provide humanitarian aid to Yemen and called on all parties to the years-long conflict in the country to return to the negotiating table and seek a diplomatic solution.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamed Hassan said his country sympathizes with the suffering of the Yemeni people, who are facing the consequences of a protracted civil war, including famine and difficulties in obtaining basic necessities.

He explained that his Yemeni counterpart, Afrah Abdul Aziz Al-Zuba, who briefed him on the latest developments in Yemen, raised the issue during a telephone call with him on Thursday.

He added: "Malaysia is ready to participate in any relief mission or provide assistance to countries that need it, within our capabilities."
