The government prioritizes data security in implementing the SDI Law

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that the government is prioritizing improving the security and protection of citizens' personal data in implementing the One Data Indonesia Law.

"In supporting the implementation of the SDI Law, strengthening information security is our priority at the Ministry of Communication and Digital," he said at the One Data Indonesia Law Socialization event at the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency Office.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital  prioritizes strengthening information security through cryptographic infrastructure and the implementation of digital certificates.

In addition, the ministry collaborates with the National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency  in conducting security audits and handling cybersecurity-related incidents.

"All of this must be supported by a proven security system," said Meutya.

He said that data is now considered a valuable resource, therefore the government is trying to control the use and processing of data without neglecting the privacy of citizens.

The government carries out oversight of governance, clarity of data storage locations, and data processing jurisdiction in an effort to realize data sovereignty.
